Presidental Activities
This week
marks a busy period in the calendar of the ITU President, Marisol Casado.
Last
week Marisol travelled to Lausanne to meet IOC President Jacques Rogge. On
January
12th, the ITU President was in Gijón for the formation of the 2011 Duathlon
World Championships LOC committee. She also
assisted the ETU on its award of
the ETU LD European
Championships to Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Marisol travels to Mexico
today for a series of meetings, among them the Executive
Board meetings of ITU,
PATCO and AIT.

Soldiers Hollow, Utah host to the Olympic Nordic Skiing events in 2002 held the
ITU Winter Triathlon World Cup and the Pan-American Championships.

Triathlon Coach Opening in Iran
The I.R. of Iran Triathlon Federation would like to provide an
environment in which triathlon talent can be identified, nurtured and
developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena.
They are now inviting suitable candidates for a coaching vacancy.

2011 Duathlon Organisation Formed
Preparation has begun for the 2011 Gijón ITU Duathlon World
Championships, with the official formation of the local organising
committee. ITU president Marisol Casado was on site to witness.

Athlete Advisory - Pseudoephedrine
The ITU Anti-doping Team would like to remind triathletes that the World Anti-Doping
Agency (WADA) has reintroduced pseudoephedrine
to the Prohibited List effective
January 1, 2010. Pseudoephedrine, a
stimulant commonly found in over-the-counter
cough and cold
medications, is prohibited in-competition only.

ITU Recruits Top PR Executive
The ITU Family is pleased to welcome Masa Takaya to the ITU media team as the Media
Manager. Masa was the press officer
for the Tokyo 2016 Bid Committee from 2007 to
2009, and also worked in the
media services department at the IAAF World Championships
in Osaka in 2007.
An accomplished triathlete, Masa was also a member of the
Promotion and Marketing Committee of the JTU. He will commence his role in Vancouver
from mid February.
