Swiss Crowned as World Champions
Switzerland won the 2009 Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Team World Championships. The young Swiss team showed their speed out kicking many of the sport's veterans including past and present Olympic and world champions.

$200,000 Wins for Moffatt & Whitfield
Canadian Simon Whitfield's renown sprint finish did not let him down at the Hy-Vee ITU Triathlon Elite Cup. In what seemed like a replay from the Beijing Olympic Games, four men came into the finish straight together side by side for one of the most exciting finishes in triathlon history.

European Championships in Holten
This weekend's Holten ETU Triathlon European Championships bring together the best triathletes from across the continent to do battle in the Dutch town. All eyes are on Beijing silver medallist Vanessa Fernandes who is making her competitive return to racing following early season injury.

ITU and Ironman Meet in DC
ITU President, Marisol Casada and World Triathlon Corporation Presidentand CEO, Ben Fertic met in Washington, DC recently to discuss a variety of topics their organisations have in common.
Toping the list was the fight against doping in sport, a problem facing both organisations, as well as sustainability and harmonizing the competition rules. ITU Secretary General, Loreen Barnett and ITU Executive Board member Melissa Merson (USA) were also at the meeting.
Upon adjournment, the group agreed that in the long term there were many areas of collaboration.
European Paratriathletes Break Records
25 athletes from eight European countries will be at the start line for the paratriathlon competition at Holten 2009 ETU Triathlon European Championships. This will be the biggest European paratriathlon championship in the history of the ETU.

Anti-doping: Registered Testing Pool
The ITU has revised its Registered Testing Pool (RTP) for the quarter July 1st - September 30, 2009 based on the current World Championship Series Ranking. An email was sent to national federations, coaches and elite athletes on Thursday 2 July.
