Possible Swim Course Change
We recently received information that the water at the Boardwalk Area in Subic was not up to ITU standards and had the water tested by a reputable group. The results will be out tomorrow, Friday, April 11.
If the water passes, we stay at the Boardwalk for the swim leg and have only 1 transition Area. Otherwise, we will have a T1 and T2, an adjustment the Technical group is ready for.
A TRAP Technical group, headed by Tom Carrasco himself, went out to check on possible alternatives should the tests not be favorable. The most viable alternative is a traingular course off All Hands Beach (just like the old days).
The bike courses will also change. Both will start with a short 3.5 K ride through the beautiful roads of the reclaimed area to the main road. The OD course will will go right following the O2 bike course towards the Naval Magazines/Kamayan Point then back towards the Boardwalk Area. This will be a 1 loop 40 K ride.
The Sprint Bike course will turn left back towards the Boardwalk area, back to the old Transition Area, which will be T2, then back out towards the old Sprint turn around and back to Boardwalk. That will be a 2 Loop Bike leg.
We will confirm all the changes as developments arise.
We want you to know that TRAP is on the ball and is primarily concerned about your health and safety. Those things can not be compromised.
