4th Mayor's Cup
Hi to everyone! May this good news from TriAD finds you in the best of everything this Holiday Season
We have just concluded our 4th Mayor's Cup TriathlonAge Group Competition yesterday Dec. 16, 2007, at the Waterfront Insular Hotel.
We had 44 Individual Participants and 9 relay teams or a total of 70 participants coming from Cebu, CDO, Mati, Tagum and Digos with Davao having the highest number of contingents. We also have more than 20% participants who are 1st-timers in the tri-event. We are very glad that we have not failed to encourage new athletes to get into triathlon.
Our Over-all winner is Mr. Paulo Ouano who has always been Davao 's bet for Tri Competitions in the national scene and is set to join the Ironman Race in Malaysia this coming February 2008. The 2nd over-all is Mr. Paul Villocino who is the twin brother of Peter Villocino who is now in Manila training for the Triathlon Phillipine Team and coming in 3rd is a cousin, Glenn Villocino.
You will find our Female, Relay and Age -group winners in the list attached with their time and ranking.
We are very thankful to the City of Davao and City Sports in the person of Mr. Bong Go in particular for supporting the event and provided all the winners with P38,000 in Cash Prizes. We also had the honors of having Councilor Susabel Reta in the awarding ceremony, assisted by Mr. Angel Brilantes. She also left us with an encouragement as she mentioned about her support in all our other events in the future and in promoting triathlon as well.
Of course, we would like to thank all our sponsors who made it all possible like Waterfront for the venue and Mr. & mrs. Angel Brillantes for the continuing support , Sunkist as well for being supportive to triathlon not to mention all the others for their unwavering support. The organizers and officers of TriAD have also been at their best in ensuring the success of the event, which includes among others the safety of all participants . I would like to thank all of them, for taking time, their precious time this Holiday Season, all for the love of Triathlon.
Yesterday's event was by far, one of our most successful events this year. Hence, part of the proceeds will be used for our Christmas "Light-bike-Project" as we distribute blinkers to bikers who will pass by Lanang-Bajada Alcantara junction and along Quimpo Blvd ,this coming December 20, on a 1st come-1st served basis. This is TriAD's way of helping the community wor road safety.
We also would like to thank the Press for the usual support in promoting wellness thru sports, thru Triathlon!. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
