ITU Subic Bay International Triathlon & Inter-Club Competition
EVENT INFORMATION
This is an International Triathlon Union (ITU) and Asia Cup Series event.
Officiated by TRAP and International Technical Officials from Asia under the supervision of ITU. In addition to serious triathlon racing, we encourage all to treat this as a family event. There are triathlon and aquathlon races for the children up to 15 years old, and spouses may join the relay team race. This is a smoke-free event.

GETTING TO SUBIC FREEPORT
Subic is accessible by land travel from Metro Manila. It is 130 kms from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Metro Manila and travel time is about 2½ hours. There are also direct international flights from Taiwan, Korea, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Singapore and from other cities to Clark Airfield which is about one-and-a half hour drive to Subic Bay Freeport. Certain chartered flights also land directly to Subic Bay Freeport.
RACE DISTANCE
Olympic Distance for Elite Open, Elite Under 23, and Age-Groupers –
1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run
Sprint Distance for Juniors (14~19years old) & Adults (20 & over) –
750m swim, 20km bike, 5 km run
Kids Triathlon Distances: 200m swim -5k bike -1k run for 12 &under,
300m swim -7.5k bike -2.5k run for 13~15
Kids Aquathlon Distances: 200m swim -1k run for 12 &under,
300m swim -2.5k run for 13~15
RACE COURSE DESCRIPTION
Swim :
Water temperature : Estimated at 27 deg C. Distance: 750 meters per loop (Olympic- 2 loops, Sprint- 1 loop). Rectangular shaped swim course. Description: Clockwise direction of swim with 20 meters beach run each loop. The swim course will only me partially marked with buoy lines. The first 200 meters and last 200 meters or so of each loop will not be marked with buoy lines. Kayaks will be deployed to guide some of the swimmers or provide assistance. A C-shaped buoy line will be located offshore. Tired swimmers may hold on to a kayak or onto the buoy line to rest but not to propel forward. The distance from swim exit to transition is 30 meters, beach sand with intermediate shower.
Bike:
Olympic distance: 13.33 kilometer loop (3 laps). Direction: Counter clockwise, keep right. Road Quality : Smooth asphalt with some cemented portions. Description: 9k relatively flat, 2.1 k category 2 climb (54m elevation change), 2.1k fast descent per loop. With 9 left and right turns and 2 turnarounds per loop. Water & Ice Station: None for elite. Provided for age groupers, at top of Binictican hill (turn around point)
Junior & Adult Sprint distance 10 kilometer loop (2 laps). Road Quality : Smooth asphalt with some cemented portions. Description: 10k relatively flat with slight climb approaching the turnaround. Water station: None
Run:
Distance : 2.475 kilometers per loop (standard distance 4 laps, junior 2 laps). Direction: Clockwise, keep right. Road quality: Smooth asphalt. Description : Generally flat. From transition 2, triathletes climb Dumuk Bridge at the start of the run to cross over to other side. After completion of required loopps, triathletes will turn right at Espiritu St, right again at Dewey St and right again at Rojas St where the finish line is. A shower of water for cooling will be provided by SBMA Fire Department near Pancake House. Drinking water & ice station: 2 stations every loop, spaced + 1.2 kilometers apart. Available for all, even for the very last age group finisher.
Finish Line & Awarding:
The finish line will be located at the center of Rojas St which is between Legenda's El Centro and Courtyard Inn. The brunch will be served in and the awarding held in El Centro (Legenda's large air-conditioned tent). El Centro wil also be the venue for the brunch and awarding and for free 15-minute massage for participants, Speedo's display of swimming apparel products.

Elite Open; Elite Under 23, Junior Sprint (13~19 years old) – Male and Female
Adult Sprint – Male and Female
Male Age Groups: 20~24, 25~29, 30~34, 35~39, 40~44, 45~49, 50~54, 55~59, 60~64, 65 & over
Female Age Groups: 20~24, 25~29, 30~34, 35~39, 40 and older
Inter-club Competition Entries
Relay Team – All-male, All female, Mixed
Kids' Triathlon – 12 and under, 13~15 – Boys and Girls
Kids' Aquathlon – 12 and under, 13~15 – Boys and Girls
INTER-CLUB TRIATHLON COMPETITION GUIDELINES
- Each triathlon club may field one or more teams composed of 5 members, with at least of one female. A 4-member team will also be accepted. Each club may field more than one team, but only a maximum of 2 teams in a club are qualified for the Top 3 podium awards.
- The times of the best 4 members (that include the time of the female) will count, and will be summed up.
- Present National Triathlon Team members are not allowed to join the team competition.
- A maximum of one former national triathlon team member can join a team.
- Male team members who achieved a time of 2:35 or better and female team members who achieved a time of 2:50 or better in the Olympic distance within the last 2 years may join the elite waves and draft in the cycling leg.
- No drafting rule enforced for team members in the age group waves. So team members will still be racing as individuals.
- Team members will race separately as individuals in their respective waves.
- Team members still qualified for individual awards.
- DNF (did not finish) will be assigned a time of 4:00:00, in case less than 4 members and/or no female finisher.
- Each of the 5 members of the top 3 teams (maximum of 2 team from the same club) gets a medal.

- The members must already be registered as individual entries.
- There are no separate fees for team entries.
- Changes in the team composition will be allowed until 02 May 2006.
Team Relay Competition Guidelines
- Each relay team will be composed of two or 2 or 3 members, with each member doing one or two sports discipline
- Beginner triathletes who are not yet confident with one or two sports disciplines are encouraged to join this competition.
- Tap-off from one teammate to the next will be done inside the Transition Area (T1/T2), beside the bicycle at T1 (swim to bike), and prior to exit at T2 (bike to run).
- Members of the National Duathlon Team may join the team relay race on non-bearing basis.

Medal for Top 3 Finishers each of the categories /age groups.
Medal for all the 5 members of the Top 3 teams in the Inter-Club Competition.
Medal for Top 5 Finishers in the Adult Sprint race
SPEEDO T-shirt for all participants. Performance Incentives Filipino triathletes who will break national records. Gift certificates from SPEEDO and DAVIDS SALON for top finishers and Age Group winners.

REGISTRATION FEE
Olympic Distance: P1600 until 31 March;
US$80 for foreigners (non-residents, or less than 6 months in the Philippines) until 30 April;
US$100 from 1~4 May
Sprint Distance: P1100 until 31 March;
US$60 for foreigners until 30 April; US$80 from 1~4 May.
Inter-Club Competition: No additional fee
Relay Team: P3000 for 2 members; P4000 for 3 members
Kids Triathlon: P700
Kids Aquathlon: P600
Above fees are valid for payments made until 31 March.
Additional P500 per athlete will be charged for payments made from 01 to 30 April (P200 for kids).
Additional P1000 per athlete will be charged for payments from 1~4 May (P300 for kids).
10% discount for TRAP-registered athletes; 20% discount for students & senior citizens; 10% discount for members of the Fitness First Triathlon Team (only one type of discount applies)
Additional 10% discount will be extended to TRAP-registered athletes who will do the sprint and Olympic distance race back-to-back (Example: P1600 + 1100 = P2700; less 10%+10% or P270 +P270 = P2160 for 2 races).
Paid fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Fees will cover cost of participation, pre-race dinner, race packet, SPEEDO event t-shirt and post-race brunch
Coupons for post-race brunch will be available for sale at El Centro for non-competitors
